Whatever Happened to Mary Janeway?: A Home Child Story

Epilogue

The spring after Mrs. Church died, Mary wrote a poem, “A Quiet Departure,” a tribute to her dear friend, which was published in her high school yearbook. Mrs. Church’s son Ross died of a massive heart attack eight months after his mother. He was only forty-two years old.

Emma passed away in 1977 in Victoria, British Columbia, at the age of eighty-nine. Both Carrie and Emma had grandchildren and have descendants living in western Canada.

Mrs. Church’s daughter Mona died as a young girl and her son Ross never had children. There are no direct descendants of Mary Janeway.
